Liverpool has so many beautiful parks and gardens with exquisite woods, luxuriant lakes, a magnificent river and a wealth of wildlife. So, I was pleased to see Jessops supporting our brilliant National Wildflower Center at Court Hey Road Liverpool 16 with a Wildflower Photographic Competition.
I thought, this would be a great opportunity to visit some of our beautiful woodlands and try my hand at photography. With this in mind, I got on my mountain bike and spent Sunday snapping some lovely wildflowers in the hope that one would be a winner. Bluebells and wild garlic was in abundance at Croxteth Country Park and so many passer-bys showed an interest in what I was doing. I certainly had an interesting time that afternoon searching for our flowery friends. The weather was fantastic and the exercise did me some good. Next stop, Black Woods Childwall, Childwall Woods, Woolton Woods, Hale beach, and Clarkes Gardens……
Judging for this competition will take place at the National Wildflower Center and my friendly colleagues tell me that entries will be displayed there for all to see with themes open to all amateur photographers of all ages and with some great prizes.
