SUMMER POPS/ BATTLE OF BRITAIN.
A Flag waving, hand clapping, whistling (Colonel Bogey March) Singing crowd all had a wonderful night at the Phil. CARL DAVIS conducted in his usual energetic flamboyant style and carried every one along with his enthusiasm. CLAIRE SWEENEY looked absolutley stunning ,four fantastic changes of evening dress and a figure to die for, she sang her heart out and the audience loved her. The rapport between Carl and Claire was lovely . They have been working together on a CD ‘GIVE ME A SMILE’, WORLD WAR Two songs and music and the affection and respect they have for each other is very genuine . It was fun and when Jean Boht came on stage and announced ” That girls a TART” the audience loved it. The orchestra were fantastic but for me the night belonged to Carl Davis and Claire Sweeney .
