LIVERPOOL LAUNCHES the LINDY HOP CHALLENGE.

Today down at the Waterfront, Liverbuilding. Lord Mayor Hazel Williams was joined by teenage dancers from Liverpool Theatre School and Frank (he claims he is over 60!) and Jean Jenkinson who have been dancing all their lives for a Photo line up to launch  THE LINDY HOP CHALLENGE. The Lord Mayor looking very smart in a black trouser suit was photographed with the very colorfully attired dancers by famous Liverpool photographer Mark McNaulty ,all managed a pose and a smile for the camera despite the windy conditions. The dancers will be part of the 2nd installment of  ON THE WATERFRONT FESTIVAL  Aug, 6th -8th at the Pierhead Dance Themed  Weekend. This celebrates Liverpool’s YEAR OF HEALTH AND WELL BEING AND ‘LEAP’S’ YEAR OF DANCE.  If the second installment of On the Waterfront if half as good as the 1st with all the Pirates and activities at the docks then it will be well worth a visit for all the family. Pick up your leaflets at the 08’Place Whitechapel or the Tourist Information centre Albert Dock or go on line . liverpool.direct@liverpool.gov.uk for more information

I’d well have a go at that if they ran classes in Liverpool, it looks so much fun. But they don’t-so I won’t!
