Tuebrook Respect Week, Newsham Adult Learning Centre.
Another successful Health Awareness event this time in Tuebrook. It was very busy. Liverpool PCT What,s Yours? alcohol Awareness team were out again Jay Mannhart dispensing leaflets and advice, www.drinking.nhs.uk Pauline Meredith ,CHATS South also busy with Health advice, Pamela from NHS community food team was very busy and working hard for the people of Liverpool, get your hands on a ‘Pack a Healthy Lunch’ leaflet , great lunch ideas from www.healthatworkcentre.org.uk Cathy gently persuaded me to go for an MOT with Kelly Cameron of CHATS. Kelly weighed me, worked out my body mass index, body fat, height, age, all I will say is it’s not Good! then I had my blood pressure taken…..Sharp intake of breath!!! (that was Kelly) who then accompanied me to Claire from Liverpool Health Trainers A free ,confidential service for all Liverpool residents aged 16+. I have the leaflet! I am booked in for advice! all I can say is we should all be on top of the world with all this free advice. visit www.liverpoolhealthtrainers.org.uk it only took 10 mins or so BUT it’s got me thinking! , and another leaflet from www.liverpoolactivecity.net. Something for the parents and carers ,Extended Services Through Schools Team , Dilys Horwich, Extended Schools Support Officer and her team can offer advice for primary/ secondary pupils parents and carers ,offering Community access, Childcare, a varied menu of activities, visits and trips outside school/lessons. It sounds really useful if you would like to chat about any problems. Liverpool East 233 1318 is the number to ring you will get a nice sympathetic ear to talk to.
