Reflection on the Waterfront. Liverpool Pierhead.
What a fantastic night! What a way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Liver Building and the opening of The Museum of Liverpool! Donna Williamson (Cultural Champion for Liverpool North and City) and myself attended this event and we decided that we were so lucky to be living in Liverpool with access to this type of cultural events. How many people get to listen to one of the worlds greatest orchestras for free, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra were absolutely amazing tonight with a programme of Beatles music and varied Film scores and overtures. Our adopted conductor Carl Davies worked his usual magic with this concert and played one of his own compositions, The huge audience loved everything and showed their appreciation in no uncertain terms. Playing Beatles music to a Liverpool audience always gets a fantastic response and more so when it’s played by such talented musicians. We were delighted to have several encores. Roger Philips as presenter was at his usual best and well-loved by everyone. After such an amazing concert we were even more amazed by the ‘ Macula Spectacular’ . a stunning audio and visual projection performance. If you missed tonight you can catch some of it tomorrow but unfortunately NOT the fantastic Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the great Carl Davis. A full programme starts at 10am and finishes after the 10.15 showing of the ‘Macula Spectacula . NOT to be missed! I hope the Lord Mayor gets his voice back to normal soon!
