Be inspired by an electic mix of globally inspired food and drink at the Southport Food Festival where every corner, and every nook and cranny in the resort springs a surprise foodie. If you are looking for somewhere different for the children to let off steam then the Childrens Food Festival will feature a special interactive activity themed around food and drink- perfect for mini Marcos and diddy Delias everywhere!
There is an eggcellent, jam packed timetable of events with Playtown hosting games and activities, Vonny Bee showing the kids the honeybee’s important role in the environment and don’t you miss Mr’s Smoothy’s workshop with Skinnimalix. Speke Hall showcases historical food and Waterstones Books creates their own foodie story corner featuring “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “James and the Giant Peach”. Frankie and Benny’s have a ‘create a kidz pizza’ session and the new Pleasureland have giveaways and childrens characters in abundance strolling around the campus.
Seek out the full-on chocolate adventure trail in town with a host of chocolatiers offering delicious samples and sales.The Real Ale festival gives you the best local and regional beers brought to you by the Ship and Mitre. Try the Strawberry Fruli. Then, the live cookery theater. This is a must and there are some brilliant cookery demonstrations booked, one by the 2012 Masterclass contestant Jay Tinker then we have Tom Bridge -the Cookery Detective, Atillo Sergi-Trattoria Southport, Robert Baker- The Barking Frog Southport, and an endless tide of food fame with surprises. These live demos will help visitors develop new techniques and taste delicious food from Southports finest gastronauts.This weekend, treat yourself in the street markets to a glass of wine, a Spanish churros, an authentic Thai curry, a street tacos, Polish bigos, golabki or kabanos.
