Bickerstaffe Food Festival-Saturday 6thOctober

I just love food festivals but always find there’s a queue and then the foods gone!

Not so at this show.

Nestling in the heart of a rural farming community the Bickerstaffe Food festival is a feast celebrating the seasonal good quality food and drink of the region.

The theme is very much, grown, pickled, baked, reared, brewed, home-made and hand crafted.

This is a fabulous foodie day for all the family. The girls will make a bee line for the Kids Taste Adventure Zone delivered by the Foodlink North West and the Survival Cookery skills for kids.

Everybody will be watching the aerial displays of the falcons and various birds of prey from S and R Birds, plus an abundance of music from the Lancashire bands.

Me, I’ll certainly be making a shot for the Pudding and Pie Cafe known for their fabulous pork pies and steak puddings.

A brisk walk across to County Cheeses for some tasty Lancashire and a free taste of their black puddings before purchasing a hot home-made granary cob from Rose’s Bakery.

I’ll probably settle back in the Pampered Chef for a freshly hand carved hog roast sandwich and a coffee from the Crazy Cow Coffee Outlet.

Bickerstaffe Food Festival is near enough to make it a pleasurable event…but…take the wellies.

The Festival has the space and an abundance of free food to sample from 10am-4pm.
