Summer Arts Market – start the school hols in style


There’s so much to do at this weekend’s Summer Arts Market at St George’s Hall, it’s enough enough to make your head spin!

The Arts market includes: –

– Over 100 of the regions best artists and makers
– A range of Creative Workshops (ticketed)
– Free children’s Craft Workshop
– Café & Music
A two-day celebration of arts and crafts, the public will be invited to browse and buy work as well as trying their hand at a range of arts workshops throughout the weekend.
Offering a unique alternative to the high street, the Summer Arts Market plays host to a wide variety of artists, designers and makers selling creations including original screen prints, paintings, jewellery, tableware, beauty products, decorations, accessories, textiles, photography, knitwear.

For the first time the art market will offer a range of ticketed arts workshops over the weekend led by professional creatives from dot-art, OUTPOST Studio, Craft Creative, Liverpool Happy Hookers Crochet Group and The Button Boutique.

Visitors will also be able to explore the astonishing surroundings of St George’s Hall, which is a Grade I listed heritage site.

And with free arts activities for children, there is something for all ages.

Festival Floral Crown Wreath Workshop – Choose from a wide variety of blooms to create the perfect summer accessory.


Screenadelica Screen Printing Workshop – Learn the basics of screen printing from the experts and take your own creation home.


Digital Photography – Get your camera off Auto! Get to grips with your digital camera and learn techniques and tips to improve your photography.

Decoupage – Recycle and make something beautiful with Decoupage, turning old jars and tiles into something useful and pretty too.

Sketching – Introduction to sketching using pencil and charcoal, and take your own still life sketch home with you.

Photowalk – A guided walk around the architectural highlights around St George’s Hall looking at different ways of capturing photos using various in-camera techniques.

Lampshade Making – Create your very own stylish lampshade to take home.

Liverpool Happy Hookers

An Introduction to Crochet – An introduction where you will learn the basic stitches needed for completing a whole host of crochet patterns

Crochet Flowers Workshop – Learn how to crochet flowers and turn them into accessories like brooches and hair clips.
