The Battle of Norton Priory

Norton Priory Museum from 1.30pm on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September, will hear the thunder of cannon and musket.

Hear the crack of musket fire and the call of battle from a dramatic civil war re-enactment right before your eyes!

Join the recruits on patrol but watch out for an ambush!

Drills and demonstrations will take place throughout the day with a battle taking place at 1.30pm.

Come and look at the Godolphin Regiment’s history ‘village’ set around the historic ruins of Norton.

Entry charge for this is £3 and well worth the experience and excitement.
Try handling their massive pikes or lifting their balls into the cannon! Feel the armour and try on some of the suits of this living regiment and re-live the past.

All this is part of the fantastic Heritage Week extravaganza.

For sat nav directions, I’m told to use the postcode WA71BD for both sites, Halton Castle and Norton Priory, but park at the Norton Priory site which has the parking capacity for this popular event.
There will be a free shuttle bus service running between the two sites during the event.
