Batty Night For All at the National Wildflower Centre
This free event has been arranged at the National Wildflower Centre 7.30 tonight.
Join the local rangers for a presentation by a bat expert and learn about these nocturnal flying mammals.
The presentation in one of the lecture rooms will be followed by a walk in the parklands using bat detectors to find and identify these elusive creatures.
All children for this one must be accompanied by an adult and suitable outdoor clothing worn along with a torch.
Meet in the Cornflower Café which will stay open till 8pm tonight.
This is a very interesting and informative walk which I have enjoyed in the past. Every ‘night walk’ has been different, with the various different types of bat being discovered swooping and dive bombing around trees and ourselves as we traverse the park.
I don’t think the drizzle will be a problem for the bats this evening so wrap up and come down to the centre for a very interesting night.
