World War II Experience Day

Be transported back in time on Saturday 14th September, with the World War II Experience Day at All Saints’ Parish Church Irvine Street, Liverpool 7 8SY.

Taste war time recipes, experience typical rations, meet war time characters and enjoy popular wartime music, even sing along if you wish!

Great stuff for all those children studying this period in history but great as a pure social event supporting the Liverpool Heritage Week.

The whole day from 10.00-16.00 involves getting that ‘experience’ trying out the mock air raid shelter, tasting the wartime food, chatting to the veterans, listening to stories and even experiencing the life of an evacuee.

Better still, try a bit of empathy; dress the kids up in shorts, V neck sweater and a shoe box on string around the neck.
Evacuation labels are free just like the WW2 quiz and the gravestone rubbings.

Just a reminder that a lot of Liverpool’s buildings will be open to the public this weekend as part of Heritage Open Day.
