This is the 11th year of  the successful Irish culture festival. And what a programme of events there is over the next ten days….

I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional irish music of Padraig Rynne, Donal Lunny, Sylvain Barou and the wonderful performance of Rioghnach Connelly at the Epstein theatre last night. My feet were tapping like Micheal Flatley’s as I jiggled in my chair.

It was the start of a festival of a variety of activities, from humour to heritage, from cinema to ceilis,  films, family days, workshops, talks and heritage walks.  The strong links between Liverpool and Ireland comes from the history of this great port and the migration of Irish that settled here and their culture has been a part of our Liverpool heritage.

So why not look at whats on over the next ten days, visit the festival club and even perform if you want and get some of the wonderful ‘craic’.

Less of the blarney, visit http://www.liverpoolirishfestival.com for full details.

Its Liverpool!

Happy Days
