Giant Spectacular 2014 – Get involved!

Giants-in-liverpool

Volunteers wanted for the event of the year

The Giants are returning to the streets of Liverpool and you can volunteer to take part in this historic event.

This is a big event in every sense, and Liverpool City Council’s Culture Liverpool team want to make sure as many people as possible get involved in the run up, during and after the show.

The number and range of roles needed to stage this remarkable event are staggering, so there’s an opportunity for anyone to get involved.  You might be an event organiser, a wardrobe dresser, an electrician, a welder or a sound engineer.  The list of roles is enormous!

If you would like to be part of the event there will be a number of volunteer roles including an opportunity to be a member of the Benevol (the people who protect the giants during the show) or a even Lilliputian (the manipulators who work the giants). If you would like to register your interest you just need to go to the Giant Spectacular’s ‘Get Involved’ web page and fill out the form.

If you are planning on organising an event to coincide with the commemorations you can contact the team via the ‘Get Involved’ web page and let them know.

Ray and I worked as Benevols when the Giants were here last time and I can promise you that if you get involved, it will be one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have.
